Natalia Markowska was born and raised in Poland, matured in Sweden, and is now thriving in Australia.

She has worn many hats and picked up a wide range of skills along the way — training in swimming and tennis as a child, competing internationally in dressage, studying oceanography, cleaning houses abroad to fund her love for travel, freelancing offshore as a hydrographic surveyor, and even driving a tractor during the Australian wheat harvest.

But none of the above compares to the journey of the last four years: stepping away from it all to become a full-time carer for her partner, Torsten, after a catastrophic accident.

Learning to live again has been a slow and fragile process. Piece by piece, she’s been rebuilding — searching for a sense of self, and for small joys that are truly hers. Then she found pottery, and something clicked almost instantly.

Since August 2024, she’s been falling deeper in love with clay, carving, and design. Through these years of relearning life, one thing has remained clear: what she and Torsten cherished most were their walks through the Australian landscape — marveling at the alien beauty of native flora and the infectious laughter of the kookaburra.

Now, she creates from that love. And she is very happy to share her work with this beautiful, wild, and crazy world.

Wu Wei by Natalia was born as an expression of this journey. Wu Wei means flowing effortlessly — being fully immersed in the creative process, where time dissolves and the mind is free from the limits of the physical world. When Natalia carves, shapes, and designs, she enters a meditative state — just her, the clay, and the moment.
